Welcome to R D Johnson Carpentry & Building. I have over 30 years experience trading in the Brighton & Hove area. After initial appraisal I can suggest practical ways to accomplish your project and can provide an approximate budget. Depending on scale, I might recommend carefully selected architects and offer advice in regard to planning permission and building control. I understand the need for clear and honest timescales and have the experience to keep all parties fully informed throughout the project.
I carry out a variety of structural alterations ranging from removing a wall or adding a window through to architecturally planned home extensions. Creating a modern living space can greatly improve your quality of life and I can offer a several different approaches to maximize the potential of your home.
The kitchen is the heart of your home and often the social hub. I have extensive experience installing kitchens and can offer a range of kitchen styles from contemporary to classic. Kitchen units and components have never been so stylish or durable. Clever space-saving ideas and imaginative lighting can make your kitchen space look stunning - after all, it's the most important living space of all.
I have worked with wood all my life, learning specific techniques for a variety of different applications. The ability to manufacture bespoke items "in-house" is very valuable as it saves time and reduces project costs. Example applications include doors, windows, gates, frames, units and all types of skirting and architraves.
I have experience with commercial clients where timescales are paramount.
The need for refurbishment works to be carried out during out of work hours is often required.
I have been completing projects for one local business with over 10 shops for 22 years. Recent projects completed:

Do you require a deposit for all jobs?
If expensive materials are required for new customers, I will ask for a deposit.
Can I use my own designer/architect?
Yes, that's no problem. I only offer professional services when required.
